IT - Too much of something is good for nothing. Know your limits !!!

Today's IT industry boasts of a huge number of benefits surpassing the dangers associated with it. Many people are allured by the lucrative salary, white collared job, free transport, subsidized canteen, free snacks, variety of hot and soft drinks, unlimited or restricted internet etc.,

While it takes time to understand that nothing comes only with advantages, the irky mind of middle class salaried people fascinates of lavish spending, luxurious living, a self owned car, villa type club house, accessorized apartments as soon as they get their offer letters stating a five digit salary. Do remember five digits start from 10000 to 99999. Not many are aware of the deductions, appraisals, market trends, recessions all that will play a vital role in fixing your pay and deciding what can be on paper and what will come to your hands.

Glittering things are always not gold. Similarly fancy marketing will only give you fantasy imaginations, though reality may be bitterly striking. I have seen a whole lot of people having taken a house loan EMI just based on their pay slips. But once they are out of a comfortable project or they are moved into something complex of what they can't cope up with, they lose their confidence of even continuing in their job, paying their monthly EMI'S, meeting even silly household expenditures. Even buying a vegetable or milk when an additional guest enters, becomes a burden to them.

Next there are a lot of people who only think it is quite easy to buy a car just with a car loan of meagre 3 - 4 lakhs for which the EMI on loan will be 3 - 4k per month. But after buying it, in order to prove their family and friends that it is a necessity to them, they drive it to office from home which is almost 50 kms to and fro. Their whining minds then think of the fuel or petrol expenditure that they have to meet on daily basis. When they decide to keep it at home and use when needed, they will find that long time idle placement of the vehicle has led to maintenance cost which will also run into thousands. When they think of all these cons, they decide to sell the vehicle at a much lower price than they purchased it with half heart nevertheless to avoid any further loss incurred with the use or no use of the vehicle.

Further adding to the misery is the credit card provided voluntarily by all leading banks just to encourage spending but not preaching the risks associated with it. They are seasonal killers as they will kill your time, energy, money, whenever you have a thirst to spend. Your thirst to spending is their hunger to feeding. The huge interest rates that are offered and also the dacoits or rowdy elements used in collecting the money with interest with exploitative techniques has led many people to end their life miserably. It has made many families do a collective suicide along with their kids or leave behind their kids in pathetic and orphaned situation.

The immediate next money killer comes in the form of online shopping which promotes of a lot of festive deals with websites of all new forms such as snapdeal, ebay, amazon, flipkart , jabong, fabfurnish,pepperfry,fashionandyou etc., (There are still numerous online sites which i may not be aware of). They lure you to keep spending in thousands with your thinking ability completely locked or shut down in analyzing whether there is an actual need of those products? When an item is promoted in offer, we very well need to think that there may be cases of damage, item not being sold for a long period of time, item not meeting the quality thereby attracting customer dislike, undue pressure to clear the inventory of the stocked items etc., Not many people have the time to think of all this and they are simply attracted by the marketing strategy of these online companies which make a huge profit in just couple of hours. Do understand it is their profession to sell and make money whereas a pain for us to buy and waste money. Think thrice before you buy or take a decision. Thereafter you will never have to regret. Lack of momentary thinking leads to life full of regrets.

The list is un-exhaustive and I can keep essaying on a whole lot of issues that are hurting people’s pouch and peace. But everything needs a conclusion. So let us make a stop here.

I do not try to discourage people that IT is really intimidating. But the shadow of risks or dangers that travels with you is not known until one is deeply hurt. When we are rewarded thrice the government jobs salary, twice the facilities in a government job, please realize there are ten times risk of losing your job even when fault is not yours and is on the market situation. No government servant has been sent home with pink slips due to recession, but we have been hearing of such pity stories in this IT sector very often. The competition is very heavy with competitors in every single step of yours running in thousands. Hence consider every buck of money is just an extra buck made via luck. Realize your efforts are not worth it. There is always a pressure like fire in the belly and seat made of needles. Ensure you do not waste money unnecessarily even though you do not have intentions of saving. Every penny not wasted itself gets saved without your knowledge.

MAKE HAY WHILE THE SUN SHINES is the best proverb that will suit these kind of jobs. MAKE AND SAVE ENOUGH MONEY WHEN YOU HAVE THE HEALTH, CONFIDENCE, TALENT AND OPPORTUNITY IN THIS INTIMIDATING BUT IMPRESSING IT SECTOR.
